Who we are
Sorrel is a restaurant at 11 Bridge Street, Marlborough, Wiltshire SN8 1AA. When this policy says “we” or “us”, it means Sorrel. We are responsible for the personal information you give us through this website, by phone or in the restaurant.
What we collect
When you ask for a table or enquire about private dining, we collect your name, email address, the date and time you would like, how many people are coming and anything you tell us in the notes, such as allergies or an occasion. If you phone or email us, we keep a record of what you told us so we can look after you.
When you browse the site we collect basic, anonymous information about visits, such as the pages viewed and the type of device used, so we can see what is working.
How we use it
We use your details to answer your request, confirm or change a booking, plan for dietary needs and, if there is a problem on the day, get in touch. We do not send marketing unless you have asked us to, and we never sell your information.
Our legal basis
We handle booking and enquiry details because you asked us to take steps before a booking (contract). We handle allergy information only to keep you safe, with your consent. Visit statistics are handled on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a working website.
Who we share it with
The website and its forms are hosted by Framer, which processes form submissions on our behalf. We share information with other suppliers only when they help us run the restaurant and only as much as they need. Each of them must keep it secure.
How long we keep it
We keep booking and enquiry details for up to two years after your visit, then delete them. We may keep some records longer where the law requires it, for example for tax.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it or ask us to stop. Write to us at the address below and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
The site uses only the cookies it needs to work and to count visits. It does not use advertising cookies.
